Mavs 110, Jazz 116

An absolutely miserable game tonight, bringing the Mavs to 0-4 against teams above them in the West since the Kidd trade. They did fight back from a 21 point deficit in the 2nd quarter to take a 3 point lead with 6:28 left in the game.How did the Jazz respond? With a 16-0 run to point the game out of reach. Deron Williams had 20 assists as well as 17 points. And the Jazz played most of the game without Andrei Kirilenko who made a trip to the hospital after a hard foul by Dirk.

The real Josh Howard made an appearance, going 9 of 11 to start the game and finishing with 25. Dirk had 23 points and 7 boards to go along with 6 turnovers. And Jason Kidd made all 5 of his buckets in the 4th quarter to end up with 19 points and 9 assists.

In the three games against the Spurs, Lakers and Jazz the Mavs have had a lead in the 4th quarter and ended up losing all three games. Now the Mavs start a stretch where they have 9 of 10 at home. They’re going to have to come out of this home-stand with 7 or 8 wins minimum, or else missing the playoffs is going to become a legitimate worry.

    When is Avery going to grow a pair and coach this team? Going back to the 06 finals, we get leads then start jump shooting. When is he going to make JHo realize he is an average jump shooter at best, and when he doesn’t drive he is a player worth of a MLE?

    i like when he called the timeout after dirk got td up. they all just stood there and said nothing. including avery.
    dirk is getting td up because avery isn’t involved anymore. dirk pretty much coaches the team i think.

    I did wrote in the other blog that when will Avery learn from the previous mistakes of last year. I dont think he sits and watches the old game videos. The last 3 games were horrible and as a Mavs hardcore fans its really very tough to take it. All the matches Mavs take a lead and unable to hold it. Why ? Because Avery doesnt know how to do it. Its been last 3 years he is giving the same reasons to the Mavs fans that they are still learning. dude when will u graduate ? Look at other teams the Hornets.. damn they are good. They are also young bunch and see Mavs.. they have Kidd.. I dont know why they took Kidd and lost a good Center like Diop. right now Dallas is on the 7th position. God Help the MAVS..!! Well if Dallas cant make it this time i think they should get some good coach like Pat or Brown, enough of Avery… he still doesnt know how to win the game in the last 3-4 mins when trailing by 3 -4 points…
